Stratus Swimming School was established in 1997 and still going strong 20 years on.

Many of our teachers were with us a the Stratus Swimming School Launch.

Sarah has also been sports centre manager for Billericay School for 14 years.

Sarah is a mum to one daughter and one on the way in February 2018.

Jonathan Avery

ASA Swimming Teacher, Triathlon Coach, Rescue test for teachers, First aid at work, Lawyer in the city

Jonathan has 20 years of teaching experience specialising in improver levels and technique

Jonathan is father to one daughter and one on the way in February 2018.

Stella Willey

ASA Swimming Teacher, ASA Parent and Child, Rescue test for teachers

Stella has 25 years teaching experience teaching specialising in teaching young children and babies.

Stella is now a Grandmother

Anna Parker

ASA Swimming Teacher, ASA Parent and Child, Rescue test for teachers, Swim, Survive and Save Instructor

Anna has 20 years teaching experience specialising in teaching young children and babies.

Anna is a mother to 3 teenage children

Nichola Larkin

ASA Swimming Teacher, Rescue test for teachers, Registered child minder, first aid

Nichola has 20 years teaching experience specialising in advanced improvers and life saving and experience with teaching young children.

Nichola is a mother to one son and one daughter

Gina Doyle

ASA Swimming Teacher, National Pool Life Guard, RLSS Trainer Assessor for Life Guards, RLSS Trainer Assessor for Rescue Test for teacher RLSS and STA, President of the Essex RLSS, National award winning Instructor for the RLSS. 

Gina was a competitive club swimmer, she has 20 years teaching experience and specialising in life saving. 

Gina heads up the Essex RLSS open water course at Mersey outdoor centre in the summer for Rookie Life Guards, Swim, Survive and Save and teenagers who wish to train to as RLSS instructors.

We welcomed Gina to Stratus in January 2017, Gina had previously been our Rescue test for teacher tutor.

Gina is a mother to two teenage sons

Emily Birch

ASA Swimming Teacher, ASA Parent and Child, Rescue test for teachers, Rookie and Swim, Survive and Save Instructor 

Emily has 5 years teaching experience and many more years as an assistant teacher, Emily specialises in advanced children and life saving.

Emily is a mother to one daughter 

Here are the Junior members of our teaching team who hold one or more of the following qualifications:

ASA Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Life Guards and Rookie and Swim, Save Instructors.

 

Olivia Christian-Specialising in Life Saving and teaching

Olivia has swam with us since young completing our swimming scheme and the RLSS Rookie and Swim, Survive Programme.

 

Joanne Ellis-Specialising in teaching and life saving

Joanne is still one of our swimmers swimming in our teen group for fitness, Joanne has completed our swimming scheme.

 

Samuel Doyle-Specialising in life saving

Samuel has a lot to live up to with Gina as his mum, he has a lot of passion for life saving and sharing his experience with

Stratus students. Samuel is also a Life Guard, Life guarding on a regular basis.

Craig Brown-Specilaising in teaching and Life Saving

Craig is relatively new to our team, Craig has loads of passion for teaching and imparting his knowledge to our students at Stratus. Craig is also a Life Guard, Life guarding on a regular basis.

 

Georgia Hobson-Specialising in teaching

Georgia was a former competitive swimming, imparting her knowledge to stratus students

Jodie Parker- Specialising in teaching

Jodie is Anna's daughter specialising in teaching younger children.
